Jewelry Care
Preventing Tarnish: Each piece of our jewelry comes with an anti-tarnish strip. These can be used in ziplock bags, or placed in your jewelry box to protect your silver.
Getting Rid of Tarnish: Use a polishing cloth on silver, because silver is not suitable for ultrasonic cleaners, and some stones can’t be immersed in silver-cleaning solutions.
Cleaning: Immersing jewelry in warm, soapy water is the safest way to clean it. Rinse with cold water and pat dry.
Handcrafted gemstone jewelry should be handled with care. Keep these tips in mind:
- Don’t wear jewelry when in contact with chemicals or cleaners.
- Put jewelry on after applying perfume and makeup.
- Don’t keep jewelry near a heat source or in sunlight.
- Don’t use ultrasonic cleaners or harsh jewelry cleaners.
- Store jewelry in airtight bags, or in a jewelry box with anti-tarnish strips.
- Store pieces separately, so that they don't scratch other jewelry.
- Store pearls and opals in fabric rather than plastic, to allow these stones to "breathe".
